Cleaning a cocoa stain

Some tips for removing these unwanted stains

After the Christmas holidays, we have some customers who have had problems with chocolate stains on their headwear.

An annoying problem, especially when the said headwear is in a light color... Chocolate tends to seep into your headwear, whether it's a hat or a cap. Moreover, the longer you wait to clean it, the more the stain sets in and the more difficult it becomes to remove effectively.

The backup solution

Prepare a shampoo for your hat, with a mixture of neutral soap and water. Gently rub the stain (and not with a sponge or cloth that bleeds!) until it disappears or fades sufficiently. Then rinse your hat well to avoid any water marks on the fabric. For drying, leave your cap/hat flat at room temperature. Do not put it on a radiator, as this would damage it. Similarly, do not use a hair dryer. Obviously, this advice does not apply to hats made of materials other than fabric (for example, Panama hats).
