About the Pork Pie hat shape

The first hats to feature this typical shape, called "Pork Pie hat", were mainly worn by American and English women in the 1930s during the American Civil War. At the time, it was frequently worn with a small feather, inserted under its ribbon on the side according to the trend. In the United States, it was silent film actor Buster Keaton who greatly contributed to its success, and for the record the latter made his own Pork Pie, from Fedora hats!
