At the end of the 19thth century that a family from Germany moved to the suburbs of Buffalo, NY. The eldest son, Ehrhardt, found a job in a cap factory where he worked for 18 years. In 1920, he started his own cap factory, which in 1922 became the New Era Cap Company. A family business that became increasingly successful over the years, firstly thanks to the 8-sided "Gavroche" or "Gatsby" cap, with a short visor. In 1950, the New Era cap with long visor was already very present in prestigious baseball teams such as the Brooklyn Dodgers, Cincinnati Reds, Cleveland Indians or the Detroit Tigers.
