Hats in all shapes

The word hat comes from the Late Latin capellus, diminutive of cappa meaning cape. The word first transformed into "chapel" then into "chapeau" in the 13th century.

The term refers to rigid or soft headwear of all times, with crown and narrow or wide brims, made of any material and for both genders. However, the word hat is often used in everyday language to refer to all headwear, even without brims.
