The latest version of the Tilley LTM hat is perfect for protecting sailors from the sun! The features that differentiate it from the LTM5 are: a higher crown and wider brims for increased face coverage. It's a sun hat with exceptional lightness and durability.
The Nylamtium (170g/m² in double thickness) that makes up the hat is crafted from a snag-resistant Supplex nylon fabric that is highly durable, water-repellent, lightweight, and quick-drying. It's a hat guaranteed for life against wear! The remarkable lightness of this hat combined with a 3/4-inch ventilation mesh on top of the crown offers you great comfort in hot weather and protects you from heat stroke! Moreover, this Tilley LTM6 hat, like other Tilley hats, has a maximum sun protection factor of UPF 50+.
It's also a hat that effectively shelters you from rain thanks to the polyester and cotton threads that swell when wet, ensuring total waterproofing. Finally, it's a hat that doesn't get lost thanks to its tie-down cord and high buoyancy.
Be careful when choosing your size: Tilley recommends always going one to two sizes up from your classic size to keep the hat wide enough for sweat to easily evaporate, keeping your head well-ventilated.

Tilley hats are designed for maximum comfort! That's why it's very important that they fit your size well. A Tilley hat should be worn low and not too tight. You'll surely appreciate this feature, especially in hot and humid weather. When buying a Tilley hat, you should choose a size larger than your usual size. Indeed, it's gravity that keeps the hat in place! There should be enough space between the front of the hat and your forehead to easily slip two fingers. Similarly, you should be able to pivot the hat from left to right and tilt it from front to back without feeling any friction on your forehead.
