The latest version of the Tilley LTM hat is perfect for protecting sailors from the sun! The features that differentiate it from the LTM5 are: a higher crown and wider brims for increased face coverage. It's a sun hat with exceptional lightness and durability.
The Nylamtium (170Gr/m² in double thickness) that makes up the hat is crafted from Supplex nylon canvas that's snag-proof, highly resistant, water-repellent, lightweight, and quick-drying. It's a lifetime guaranteed hat against wear! The remarkable lightness of this hat combined with a 3/4 inch ventilation mesh at the top of the crown offers great comfort during hot weather and protects against sunstroke! Moreover, this Tilley LTM6 hat, like other Tilley hats, has a maximum sun protection rating of UPF 50+.
It's also a hat that effectively protects you from rain thanks to polyester and cotton threads that expand when wet and ensure complete waterproofing. Finally, it's a hat that won't get lost thanks to its chin cord and excellent buoyancy.
Be careful when choosing your size: Tilley recommends always going one to two sizes up from your regular size to keep the hat loose enough for perspiration to escape easily, keeping your head well ventilated.

How to know if your Tilley hat fits properly?
Tilley hats are designed for maximum comfort! That's why it's very important that they fit your size properly. A Tilley hat should be worn low and not too tight. You'll surely appreciate this feature, especially in hot and humid weather. When buying a Tilley hat, you should go one size up from your usual size. Indeed, it's gravity that keeps the hat in place!
You should have enough space between the front of the hat and your forehead to easily slip two fingers. Similarly, you should be able to pivot the hat from left to right and tilt it from front to back without feeling any friction on your forehead.

Toujours très fiable … dommage que le numéro de téléphone personnel que l’on inscrit à l’intérieur du chapeau pour être appelé en cas de perte ne serve à rien ! Les heureux découvreurs de l’objet perdu préfèrent apparemment garder le chapeau pour eux !

C'est mon 2eme chapeau Tilley acheté chez Traclet, la qualité du tissu, des coutures est excellente. Le système d'évacuation de la chaleur est une excellente invention. Les bords larges sont parfaits pour éviter les coups de soleil sur le visage ou sur les oreilles. En choisissant la taille comme indiqué sur le site Traclet, le chapeau s'adapte très bien; dans le doute, ne pas hésiter à prendre la taille juste au dessus. Le chapeau est léger et facile à porter. Deux petits bémols: - les œillets ont tendance à s'oxyder sur mon premier chapeau Tillet LTM8 - le prix des Tilley est un poil cher dans l'absolu. Mais les avantages l'emportent largement sur les inconvénients, et j'en ai donc acheté un deuxième ...
