Guide des tailles a chapeau

Quick Tips - Sizing Guides for Your Headwear

The fit of a hat is a matter of personal preference. You want your hat to fit you and how you want to wear it. A tighter fit is best for active people, think a festival or a day at the beach. A looser fit is best for more comfortable, extended wear (4+ hours) and sits lower on the head

The shape and style of a hat can vary the size and fit, we always recommend reading the size and fit guide on the product page of the hat you want to make sure you have chosen the right size.

A hat reducer is a great addition if you are unsure of the size. It can be used to adjust the size and fit of your new Traclet hat as well as other brands (and add comfort at the same time).

Each Traclet Hat Shop piece is carefully designed, so the shape and silhouette will vary slightly in how it fits.

Use our size guide and the "size and fit" section of the hat of your choice to find the perfect fit.

How do you find your hat size?

We have some simple tips to help you find the perfect hat size for YOU. To accurately measure your head, you will need a cloth tape measure. We also recommend that you have another person help you, for accuracy.

Traclet Hats are measured in different ways. We recommend that you use a metric ruler and measure your head in centimeters and check with the correspondence chart.

How to find your size?

How do you want to wear your hat? Choose from the options below and follow the instructions for your preferred option to measure your head.

Be sure to follow the instructions for your preferred option. There are significant differences between them.

Option 1: Traditional

This is the "traditional" style of hat wearing. Choose this option if this is how you will be wearing your hat.

1. Place your cloth tape measure around your head, above the occipital bone (the furthest part at the back of your head).

2. Bring the measurement around the front of your head. Place it about 5mm above your ears and position it in the center of your forehead, or just above your eyebrows (depending on where you want your hat to sit). Make sure the ribbon is positioned correctly, this is how the hat will sit on your head.

3. Check the size on your tape measure. If you don't have the same size, we recommend going up a size and adding a hat add-on to your order to fit the hat on your head.

Option 2: "Halo" style

This is the "halo" style of wearing the hat. Choose this option if this is how you will be wearing your hat.

1. Place your cloth tape measure around your head, above your occipital bone (the furthest part at the back of your head).

2. Bring the tape measure to the front of your head. About 5 mm above your ears, position it at the top of your forehead (beginning of the hairline). Make sure the tape is in the right place, as this is how the hat will fit on your head.

3. Check the size on your tape measure. If you don't have the same size, we recommend that you go up a size and add a filler to your order to fit the hat on your head.

Option 3: For children

This is the measurement method for children. Choose this option if you want to know if our size fits your child.

1. Place your cloth measuring tape around your head, above the occipital bone (the furthest part at the back of your head). This is how we recommend kids wear the cap for comfort and to keep it on for windy beach days.

2. Bring the measurement to the front of your head. About 5mm above your ears and position it in the center of your forehead, or just above your eyebrows (depending on where you want your hat to be placed). Make sure the ribbon is positioned correctly, this is how the hat will fit on your head.

3. Check the size indicated on your tape measure. If your tape measure is less than 18 inches, we recommend our mini size for children (18 inches). If your tape measure is between 18" and 22", we recommend our children's size (22") and a hat reducer to fit your head size. We do not recommend children's hats for those whose heads are taller than 24 inches
