Its history comes from Guérande
The salt worker wore four successive vests: two of white cloth, a third of blue cloth with green stripes and a fourth, shorter, red one. Floating breeches of white cloth or local basin, tied at the knees with white stockings or gaiters, completed the costume. The wide-brimmed hat, trimmed with ribbons, was worn differently depending on whether the man was married, single or widowed: raised on the side for young men, and in front for the married. For ceremonial occasions, the man wore a mid-length black coat.
The woman wore a rigid breastplate, embroidered in gold and silver, covering the chest and varying in design from parish to parish. The bodice consisted of a round, low-cut vest adorned with a starched lace collar, with wide, red sleeves that ended at the wrist with lace or embroidery.
The blue corselet, fastened at the front with ribbons, fell to the side and was cut into a square shape at the back. As for the dress, it consisted of two white petticoats covered by a skirt, the three being of different lengths. Finally, a moiré apron, tied at the back, with a belt and ribbons in the same pattern as the bib.
The headdress is similar to that of the Vannetais, finely embroidered, matching the ruff, which also features a pleated skirt and a truly original bib.
The bridal costume included a bishop's purple skirt, red sleeves embroidered in black velvet and rolled up to reveal the beautiful gold and yellow brocade lining.
