Its history comes from Guérande
The salt worker wore four successive waistcoats: two of white cloth, a third of blue cloth with green stripes and a fourth, shorter, red one. A floating breeches of white cloth or basin of the region, tightened to the knees by white stockings or gaiters completed the costume. The wide-brimmed hat, trimmed with ribbons, was worn differently depending on whether the man was married, single or widowed: raised on the side for young men and in front for the married. During ceremonies, the man wore a black half-length coat.
The woman wore a rigid breastplate, embroidered with gold and silver, covering the chest and whose design varied according to the parish. The bodice consisted of a round, low-cut waistcoat, decorated with a starched lace collar, with wide, red sleeves that ended at the wrist with lace or embroidery.
The blue corselet, closed in front by ribbons, falling on the side, was cut in the back in the shape of a square. As for the dress, it consisted of two white petticoats covered with a skirt, the three being of different lengths. Finally, a moiré apron, tied behind, with a belt and ribbons with the same motifs as the breastplate.
The headdress is similar to that of the Vannetais, finely embroidered, matching the collar also worked in pleated skirt and plastron really original.
The costume of the young brides included a purple skirt bishop, red sleeves embroidered with black velvet and that we rolled up to show the beautiful lining of gold and yellow brocade.
