Since 1930, Panama hats have covered the heads of many famous men, including Theodore Roosvelt, who wore one during his visit to the Panama Canal construction sites, leading to the introduction of this type of Ecuadorian hat. The making of a Panama hat when it is handmade, depending on the fineness of the work and the thickness of the fibers, can take several hours or even weeks of weaving.
This hat is very flexible and can be rolled or folded for transport. It is also handmade in Ecuador from 100% toquila fibers
