The Monty beret is the favorite beret of Sir Bernard Shaw Montgomery, famous for his military exploits in both World Wars. Monty was Montgomery's nickname following his victory over the Germans in North Africa in 1942.
The Monty military beret is distinguished from the Che Guevara beret by its wider top, giving it that remarkable sideways slope.
