Tyrolean wool felt hat with small brim in pure Tyrolean style. It's a small-brimmed hat, turned up at the back and down at the front, with a large grain in the style of a large double rope, giving a large trim on the left side. It was adopted by hunters in many countries, where it could bear the German name of Hut. This was the official name for the wide-brimmed felt hat worn by the Guardiens de Paris, a short-lived Parisian police force (1848-1849), whose production was a major headache for the administration, which was then faced with a strike by hatmakers.
