Why a UV hat

It is important to know that there are several types of ultraviolet rays, UVA, UVB and UVC. UVC is blocked by the ozone layer, so we do not feel its effects. UVB rays are rays that penetrate the surface layers of the skin and are the ones that cause sunburn if there is no sun protection. UVB rays are quite dangerous but much less so than UVA rays, which penetrate deep into the skin and have repercussions such as skin aging and skin cancer.

Anti-UV headgear is therefore designed to block UVA and UVB rays. They are made of materials that stop ultra-violet rays such as nylon, cotton; natural or synthetic fibres that headwear brands test in laboratories to have a real indication of the protection provided by each hat. Hats receive an Ultraviolet Protection Factor rating. The higher this index is, the more UV rays the headwear absorbs. For example, if a cap has a UPF 40 index it means that it will only let through 1/40 of the ultraviolet rays.

Opportunities to put an anti UV hat on your children

This is a real guarantee of protection for your babies and children because children have very fragile skin. Making your child wear an anti-UV hat when you go out in the sun can help your child to be in better health, he will be able to enjoy the outside air safely.

This protection must be applied in all weathers. Indeed, we often think of protecting the skin in summer but it must be done all year round, especially for healthier people who are more at risk such as babies and children. These hairstyles will be perfect for your toddlers for small and large outings outside.
