The traditional Panama hat
A panama hat borsalino style in Panama, in natural straw enhanced with a black ribbon
This hat comes from a plant from the low plains of Manabi. This is a superb Panama that will bring out the best in you; it is the result of a long drying process in full sunlight of the young palms of Carludivia Palmita. It is exclusively this straw that provides this exceptional support. Since 1881, the quality and care given to its manufacture have made it the most famous hat in the world. It is a very lightweight hat that can be adjusted thanks to its large inner grain. It is the most elegant hat, a great classic that will protect you from the sun's rays.
In our shops or when ordering on our website, we can customize your PANAMA hats by simply changing the ribbon to the color of your choice. Finally, it is also possible to make a silkscreen printing or embroidery on the ribbon and to offer first price panamas according to the quantities requested.

Care of your Panama hat
The toquilla palm contains a certain degree of moisture, depending on its thickness, which gives it its flexibility. When the hat is exposed to a humid atmosphere (e. g. beach edges without sunlight) the palm absorbs excess moisture and expels it when the atmosphere is drier. This process weakens its structure over time. This is why the first models with a wider fin do not resist more than two years with significant climate changes. Extra-fine Cuencas and Montécristis do not have this problem because they use a thinner palm and a denser weave
To increase the life expectancy of your hat, we offer you here some tips care instructions:
- Do not put your hat in contact with water. The palm acts like a sponge.
In case of an incident, let the hat rest in the shade for the time necessary to evacuate this excess moisture. - Do not leave your hat in a closed place in direct sunlight (like a rear window of the car).
The fiber dries too quickly and the cap may break over time. - Do not apply too much pressure on the same place to grasp it.
The tip of the fedora shape (Borsalino style, front part) is still the most fragile area and over time the palm will break. It is recommended to grasp your hat by the wings (sides) underneath. You can easily iron your hat with steam.
