Natural Gabin Fedora Panama Hat - Crambes
A Fedora-style Panama hat in natural straw with black ribbon trim.
This hat comes from a plant native to the low plains of Manabí.
Here's a superb Panama for your summer garden, the result of long sun-drying of young Carludivia Palmita palms.
It is exclusively this straw that provides this exceptional support.
Since 1881, the quality and care taken in its manufacture have made it the most famous hat in the world. It's a very light hat that can be adjusted thanks to its coarse inner grain. It's the most elegant hat, a great classic that will protect you from the sun's rays.
In our boutiques or when ordering on our website, we can personalize your PANAMA hats by simply changing the ribbon to the color of your choice. Finally, we can also screen-print or embroider the ribbon, and offer first-price Panama hats in the quantities you require.

Caring for your Panama hat
Toquilla palm contains a certain degree of moisture, depending on its thickness, which gives it its flexibility.
When the hat is exposed to an atmosphere saturated with humidity (e.g. sunless beaches), the fin absorbs excess moisture and expels it when the atmosphere is drier. This process weakens its structure over time. That's why the first models with a wider palm can't withstand major climatic changes for more than two years.
To increase the life expectancy of your hat, here are a few maintenance tips:
- Don't put your hat in contact with water: the fin acts like a sponge.
- In the event of an incident, leave the hat in the shade for as long as is necessary to allow excess moisture to evaporate. - Don't leave your hat in a closed area in direct sunlight (such as the rear window of a car).
- The fiber dries too quickly and the hat may break over time. - Don't apply too much pressure on the same spot to grip it.
- The tip of the fedora shape ( Borsalino style, front part) is always the most fragile area and over time the fin will break. We recommend gripping your hat by the wings (sides), underneath. You can easily iron your hat with steam.
