Typical Alsatian hat made from Italian wool felt. This chef's hat has a slightly raised brim all around.
Hat worn by men, particularly in the Colmar region, and popularized by Hansi's engravings.
Originally, the cap of the hat was round, with wide brims raised in various ways with velvet ribbons and cords, and was worn pointing forward in the Kochersberg region, pointing left in the Wissembourg area, as a tricorn or only backwards, which is the most typical form.
