Tyrolean hat made of wool felt with small brim in the pure Tyrolean style. It is a hat with a small brim raised on the back and lowered in front with a big grain in the style of a big rope in double which gives a big trim on the left side. It was adopted by hunters in many countries, where it could be called the German Hut. It was the official name of the wide-brimmed felt hat attributed to the Guardians of Paris, a short-lived Parisian police force (1848-1849), and whose manufacture was the torment of the administration, confronted at the time with a strike of the hatmakers.
