Canotier handmade in France

Very much in vogue in the 19th century, it is now making a comeback for ceremonial occasions and boat trips. This boater is entirely handmade in the traditional way in France, sewn with straw and adorned with a black ribbon. As well as a uniquely fashionable and elegant look, you'll also get tried-and-tested UV protection. It's impossible to talk about the shape of the boater without mentioning its principal muse, Maurice Chevallier, who contributed greatly to its prestigious renown. In the United States, Fred Astaire usually wore canotieres with almost every outfit. These 2 devotees made the article a flagship product of their decades.

A few tips on boating
The French canotier is made of straw in the traditional way, a rather fine weave, which gives it a very rigid overall appearance. It's also a hat that doesn't sink in like a classic hat, because its cap is shallow, even though it sinks in better than an Olney boater, which is often just placed on top of the head. Last but not least, this model has no interior comfort band. A head reducer is therefore essential to make it more comfortable and secure it firmly on the head (not supplied with the boater).

Très bonne qualité mais il faut noter que le chapeau est assez haut mais comme il est sur les photos. Nous auront aimé une coupe plus basse et donc plus élégante mais il convient finalement très bien !
