Cette ombrelle-parapluie de Soway est d'abord un bel objet, élégant dans son coloris beige, et agréable à tenir avec son mat en bois de hêtre. La fabrication française (Vaux) inspire un sentiment de solidité et j'ai pu la sortir, jusqu'à présent, avec des vents d'un peu plus de 20 noeuds rafales, en y faisant attention bien entendu. Comme promis, elle protège parfaitement du soleil, UV et chaleur (IR) comme les chapeaux de la marque, grâce à son tissu en Tyvek. Ce dernier est néanmoins différent de celui des chapeaux : beaucoup plus robuste et avec des faces différentes, lisse côté extérieur et tissé avec un agréable toucher à l'intérieur. En toute rigueur il est vrai qu'une ombrelle / parapluie anti-UV devrait avoir un intérieur sombre pour éviter les réflexions, mais en usage courant cela ne pose aucun problème et est beaucoup plus agréable à l'oeil. Enfin, cette ombrelle n'est pas qu'une ombrelle mais bien un parapluie-ombrelle. Bien que Soway ne parle que d'un tissu "déperlant", j'ai testé la fonction parapluie pendant 3h de pluie continue (1 heure d'averses orageuses et tropicales, 1h30 de pluie forte et 30 min de pluie légère) : l'ombrelle est non seulement parfaitement étanche mais en plus la face intérieure reste sèche, ce qui est plus agréable que ne le serait un tissu coton qui serait immanquablement mouillé. Pour terminer, pour ceux et celles qui le souhaitent, Vaux (qui fabrique l'ombrelle pour le compte de Soway) peut vous fournir un fourreau pour l'emmener partout avec vous ! Bref, je recommande.
