- All Tilley hat fabrics are certified: they block 98% of harmful UVA and UVB rays and offer a UV protection index (UPF) of 50+, the maximum rating given
- Even though our hats block 98% of UV rays, some rays CAN penetrate through the 2 cm mesh
How to clean your Tilley hat
- Machine wash on delicate cycle or hand wash. Reshape by hand. Air dry. Do not use bleach. Wash often, as uncleaned sweat stains may dull and even cause mold
