A bit of shell history

The photo of this hat with an edible scallop shell glued on it. The shell is normally found on the beach in Compostela. We don't buy it from our fishmonger in Roanne after eating the cream it contained.

Except in this case, being far from the beach, it's a shell from our Roanne fishmonger. Moreover, the shells found on the beach are much smaller and more colorful.
