Regularly cleaning your hat, a necessity

Having a clean hat to perfect your outfit is just as important as the clothes you wear. While professional cleaning is ideal, it's not always possible. Below we have included advice on how to clean your hat at home to keep it clean all year round. You can also consult our White Paper on hat cleaning for more information.

Cleaning wool felt or fur felt

1. To clean, brush the crown and brim of your hat counterclockwise with a soft-bristled brush.
2. Place your hat on a form or put it upside down (on the crown) to maintain its shape.
3. If your hat is wet, shake off excess water then let it dry at room temperature.
4. Steam your hat while maintaining its shape. For heavy stains, powder cleaning products can be used. The most commonly used is notably the trichloroethylene substitute.
