Fabric and perspiration - Cleaning

With the warm weather and heat, it's common to find sweat stains on your everyday hat. To prevent the fabric from being permanently stained, it's necessary to quickly treat the unwanted marks.

We advise you to wash frequently your cotton, nylon or hemp hat, as sweat stains may soak into the fabric. Indeed, once in the fabric, perspiration may cause the color to change. Unfortunately, there is no universal method to remove these sweat stains, as sweat contains many chemical elements and its composition differs from person to person.

What you need to do is avoid letting sweat get into the fabric, it can eventually cause the fabric to rot and decompose. As a result, wash your cotton, nylon or hemp hat often, as you do for all your clothes.

We recommend using ammonia (3 tablespoons) diluted with cold water (1 liter), you can completely soak the hat and use a soft or moderately stiff brush, or even a toothbrush, to scrub the stained fabric. Rinse the hat in cool water, reshape it and let it air dry. Caution, do not use bleach!

You can also use ready-made and easy-to-use maintenance kits.
