Gendarme bicorne
Gendarme Hat. The hat is a Bicorne. This bicorne was worn by the Gendarmerie in 1805. It is made of wool felt and manufactured in France.
From the tricorne hat to the bicorne, the Gendarmes remained loyal to the kepi for a long time. Nevertheless, a redesign of the uniform was undertaken in 2004 to provide gendarmes with new, more practical uniforms. In this new uniform, a cap replaces the kepi, which is now only used for ceremonial duties.
