Wool felt hat; a top hat with a very large grosgrain. Handmade in France, this hat dates from the 17-18th century. The name Diafoirus was used by Molière in his play Le malade imaginaire.
Diafoirus is the doctor who talks like a scholar, using unfamiliar words. Above all, he uses this to hide his incompetence in a speech that no one can understand.
