The hat is part of a community project to promote Panama hat weaving activity in the coastal region of Simón Bolívar (Ecuador): regular visits to villagers to buy hats at fixed dollar prices, raising awareness about the importance of product quality. Each hat is numbered and has a serial number.

The hat is woven in "Brisa" style, which means crossing the fibers, giving it a most refined appearance.
