Here are some basic tips:
Handling
When putting on or removing your hat, hold the brim at both front and back near the crown.
Avoid folding the brim or crown.
Storage
A hat rack or hat box is the preferred way to store your hat to avoid damage.
Protection
The best defense against dirt and grime is to pre-treat your hat with Gard-Plus, a water and stain repellent. A good cleaning
Brush regularly to remove dust and dirt. Re-treat with the waterproofing spray.
If the sweatband of your felt hat, fabric hat, or straw hat becomes wet or damp, turn the band downward and allow the hat to dry slowly, without using heat or fans.

Always check for color changes in a hidden area before use.
Keep the spray about 10/15 cm from the surface when spraying to avoid water marks.
Wait until the hat is dry to touch.
Before using the spray, use a black hat brush in a counterclockwise direction until the hat is clean.
For very dirty hats, you may need to do this several times; repeat the process as needed.
You can pre-treat all new hats with the spray to prevent stains and make them water-resistant

Always check for color changes in a hidden area before use. Can be safely used on all suede, leather, and felt hats. Do not use on raw leather or untreated leather. All items should be clean and dry before treatment.
Hold spray can 10-15 cm from surface.
Allow to dry for at least 1 hour.
Repeat periodically.
