Hanna Hats Patchwork: a unique accessory

Hanna Hats is a famous Irish company based in the town of Donegal. Specialized in cap and hat manufacturing, the company designs and crafts its products by hand. With ancestral expertise, Hanna Hats distinguishes itself through its patchwork creations, true unique pieces. The manufacturing process follows various steps, which guarantee impeccable quality and a unique model:

The tweed selection

The company selects different styles of tweed fabric, made in Donegal: brown, green, red, patterned or plain fabric, they have it all! These are cut into equal-sized squares, resulting in pieces with different colors and patterns.

The assembly

Then, these squares are assembled and sewn together by hand, to create a rectangle of tweed fabric composed of different pieces.

The ironing

This tweed rectangle is then pressed, for a more uniform and pressed finish. Any protruding threads are also cut.

The tracing

The next step is to trace the cutting pattern on the fabric using a template. The patchwork is then cut out and assembled by hand.

The finishing

Finally, the cap (or hat) is steamed for an impeccable finish. It's clear that with this process, each cap, hat, or scarf is obviously unique. No two pieces are alike, as they are all the result of a different assembly. If you want unique headwear or a scarf, Hanna Hats patchwork models are made for you. Each responds to a different combination of colors and patterns, for a result you won't find on any other product. We invite you to discover our many Hanna Hats patchwork models at the Traclet boutique. You can find these model shapes in the shop by clicking on the image links. However, keep in mind that each piece is different, so the product photo may differ from the final product. The ordered cap will thus be the same shape as the image, but not with the same pieces of fabric.
