Made of Merino wool, the authentic Basque beret cannot tolerate machine washing, which could damage it. To clean your beret, opt instead for dry cleaning or hand washing. Use a damp cloth or fabric soaked in lukewarm water and Marseille soap. If necessary, you can gently rub the stained area with a brush. Be careful not to wet the beret too much, then let it dry at room temperature or by patting it with a dry cloth. Be sure to protect it from direct light to preserve its original shape and color.

CAUTION: Avoid using a hair dryer or radiator to prevent damaging your precious headwear. Avoid at all costs drying your beret on a heat source.

Tip: To refresh your beret/cap, you can apply a little dry shampoo, let it dry briefly, then brush.

How to maintain your Basque beret?
