Stetson Summer Collection 2015

The American brand Stetson has been one of the main players in the hat market for years, with new collections always more beautiful than the previous ones. Stetson also makes Panama hats, handmade in Ecuador, making them unique products. The fineness of the weaving is incomparable. They are woven in brisa style, which creates a pattern of small squares / diamonds.

Fibers like toyo and raffia are increasingly replacing panama. Toyo hats are made from viscose fibers which gives them flexibility similar to panama and an equally pleasant feel. However, it has the advantage of being less brittle. Toyo is industrially manufactured rather than handcrafted and therefore obviously doesn't have the same finish as panama, but Stetson manages to offer quality hats like the Stetson Tooken Hat.

In recent years raffia has also been integrated into Stetson collections, providing a quality headwear at a more affordable price, all with a straw appearance. The weaving is however coarser and less dressy, as exemplified by the Stetson Mandalo Raffia hat.
