The bow tie (familiarly called: bow tie) is a variant of the necktie that appeared during the 19th century. It consists of a band of fabric tied to form two symmetrical loops at the collar of the shirt, reminiscent of the shape of a butterfly. It takes its name from the famous Madame Butterfly.
