Tyrolean hat in wool felt with small brim in pure Tyrolean style. It's a hat with small brims raised at the back and lowered in front with a thick grain in double rope style which creates a thick trim on the left side.
This hat was adopted by hunters in many countries, where it could carry the German name Hut. It was the official name of the wide-brimmed felt hat assigned to the Paris guards, an ephemeral Parisian police force (1848-1849), and its manufacturing was the torment of the administration, faced then with a strike by hat makers.
