Felt hat and rain: preventing deformation

If rain has wet your felt hat, whether it's wool felt or fur felt, it risks becoming misshapen. Don't panic, you just need to act quickly and ensure proper drying so it maintains all its quality and elegance.

To do this, first shake it carefully then stuff it with tissue paper or a terry cloth, taking care to maintain its shape properly. Do not place it in an environment that's too hot and keep it away from radiators. When it's completely dry, brush it vigorously counterclockwise.

If you haven't already, consider waterproofing your headwear to limit damage. However, even when waterproofed, your hat will still always need to be dried according to proper techniques!
